Contemporary metal-clad building with angular windows

About the firm

A practice built around drawings, field control, and close-out.

Independent since 2001

Murphy Prime Construction is not a regional office of another contractor and does not present other companies' jobs as its own. Daniel Murphy started the firm after large-project work, with a simple brief: keep the engineering in-house, keep the job list honest, and keep the crew sized to the work.

The office is on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. Typical assignments are mechanical, electrical, and plumbing packages, design-build interiors, site utilities, and system upgrades in occupied buildings. Submittals, RFIs, and as-builts stay with the project file.

Staffing is a core engineering and superintendent group, supplemented by trade partners under Murphy Prime supervision.

How we run a job

Scope first

Every bid starts with a written division of work. If a system is not in the package, it is not implied in the marketing.

Field authority

A named superintendent owns the schedule on site. Engineering stays available for clashes after award.

Clean close-out

O&M manuals, training notes, and redlines are part of completion, not an afterthought once the crew has left.
