Setting-out taken straight from the BIM model.

Laser tools replace a large share of manual levelling, alignment, plumbing, and squaring, and they matter even more for excavation, pipework, and hanger grids. Murphy Prime uses Trimble RTS robotic total stations to locate every support point for prefabricated modules, and for major plant and distribution.

Digital setting-out means the BIM model is sent to the job through the robotic station and a tablet. The operator picks an element — a hanger, a builder’s-work opening, a piece of equipment, a light — and the instrument points at it. Anything that exists in the model can be placed this way.

That only works if the model is finished early enough to fabricate against. Murphy Prime treats late, manual measurement as the expensive path. The station, the module, and the drawing are meant to agree before the truck arrives.

Every point

Hangers, openings, plant, lighting, and any modelled component.

Prefab first

Supports are located for modules, not guessed after delivery.

Less rework

The site inherits coordinates instead of taking its own.
